Iranian Missile Hits Israeli Hospital as Conflict Enters Seventh Day
The Israeli hospital missile strike in Beersheba has significantly escalated tensions in the Middle East, drawing global concern. The Soroka Medical Centre, a major hospital in southern Israel, was hit amid a barrage of Iranian missile attacks as the conflict between Israel and Iran entered its seventh day. The Israeli hospital missile strike caused widespread damage to several wards, with hundreds injured. Iran has claimed that its intended target was a nearby military facility, not the hospital itself.
According to Israel’s health ministry, at least 271 people have been injured across the country due to the missile attacks. After touring the damaged hospital, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant accused Iran of crossing a red line, stating that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei “can no longer be allowed to exist.”
In response to the hospital strike and other attacks, the Israeli military launched airstrikes targeting key Iranian nuclear facilities, including the Arak heavy-water reactor and the Natanz nuclear site. These facilities are known to house components capable of producing weapons-grade material. Israel’s actions follow the June 13 offensive that initially sparked this current escalation, which involved targeted killings of Iranian generals and nuclear scientists.
Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel condemned the Israeli hospital missile strike as “deliberate and criminal,” highlighting that Soroka serves as the central medical hub for Israel’s entire Negev region. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel would “exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran” for the hospital attack and broader missile campaign.
Elsewhere, Iranian missiles struck Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv, injuring at least 20 people and damaging high-rise buildings in the business district. Iran, meanwhile, filed a formal complaint with the UN nuclear watchdog, accusing Israel of violating international laws prohibiting attacks on nuclear sites.
The situation is drawing the attention of the international community. U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly approved military response plans but has not yet authorized direct action. Iranian officials warned that any American support for Israel would trigger severe retaliation, stating their military response would “have no limits.”
As the crisis intensifies, fears of a broader regional war are growing.
