Pakistan Denies Requesting Ceasefire Amid Tensions with India
Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), has categorically denied claims that Pakistan sought a ceasefire during recent military tensions with India. Speaking in detail about the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, he emphasized that the initiative to de-escalate came exclusively from New Delhi.
Clarification on De-escalation Narrative
In a joint press briefing with Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb of the Pakistan Air Force and Vice Admiral Rab Nawaz of the Pakistan Navy, Lt Gen Chaudhry stated, “The desire for de-escalation came from the Indian side, not from us.” He stressed that Pakistan never requested a ceasefire, countering narratives suggesting otherwise.
No Indian Pilot in Custody
Addressing misinformation circulating in some media outlets, the DG ISPR clearly stated that Pakistan is not holding any Indian pilot. This clarification aimed to dispel rumors and reinforce transparency in the ongoing military discourse.
Damage Assessment and Response
General Chaudhry also confirmed that while Indian attacks caused some structural damage and one aircraft sustained minor issues, the impact was limited. He assured that the affected aircraft would be back in operation shortly and commended the professional and effective response by Pakistan’s armed forces during the conflict.
Unified Military Response Under Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lt. Gen. Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, highlighted the seamless coordination among Pakistan’s Army, Navy, and Air Force during the recent tensions with India. He noted that under Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, all three services acted with precision and unity. Special commendation was given to the country’s air defence systems, which were activated promptly and performed exceptionally.
“Our forces remain vigilant and ready for any action or misadventure,” he warned, emphasizing Pakistan’s preparedness.
Kashmir: A Core Issue for Lasting Peace
Turning to the Kashmir conflict, Lt. Gen. Chaudhry reaffirmed that sustainable peace in the region cannot be achieved without a fair resolution in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He condemned recent home demolitions in Pahalgam and reiterated Pakistan’s unambiguous stance on the Indus Waters Treaty, describing the government’s position as “crystal clear.”
Pakistan’s Calculated and Measured Response
Reflecting on recent escalations, the DG ISPR underscored that Pakistan’s response was deliberate and restrained, clearly signaling who was committed to avoiding a wider conflict. “The world saw who genuinely sought to de-escalate—the nature of our response said it all,” he asserted.
Precision Strikes and Strategic Targets
In a major disclosure, Lt. Gen. Chaudhry revealed that Pakistan launched precise missile strikes on 26 Indian military installations using the indigenous Fatah-I and Fatah-II systems. These strikes targeted bases in Suratgarh, Sirsa, Bhuj, Naliya, Adampur, Avantipura, Udhampur, Pathankot, Bathinda, Barnala, Halwara, Srinagar, Jammu, Mamun, and Ambala.
Critical military assets—including two Indian S-400 air defence systems in Adampur and Bhuj, and BrahMos missile storage sites in Beas and Nagrota—were successfully neutralized. Command centers and radar installations in Uri and Poonch were also destroyed. These operations specifically targeted sites linked to attacks on civilians in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with civilian safety kept as a top priority.
Cyber Warfare and Aerial Surveillance
Simultaneously, Pakistan conducted large-scale cyber operations that disrupted key Indian military infrastructure. Armed drones conducted surveillance over several Indian cities, including New Delhi, demonstrating Pakistan’s technological edge and strategic reach.
National Unity and Political Support
DG ISPR extended gratitude to the youth, media, and national leadership for their resilience and unity in the face of disinformation campaigns. He praised the support from the Prime Minister, cabinet, and political leaders, describing it as a landmark in collective national resolve.
Counter-Intelligence and Ground Operations
Operations in the Rajouri and Nowshera sectors resulted in the dismantling of Indian intelligence cells involved in cross-border terrorism. Some hostile agents even surrendered and raised white flags following retaliatory strikes by Pakistani forces. Indian drones that violated Pakistani airspace were effectively countered, reaffirming Pakistan’s air defence readiness.
“Our response fulfilled all three principles—it was powerful, its timing and method were of our choosing, and the world saw the reality—not just Indian media,” the DG ISPR concluded, offering prayers for the wounded and honoring fallen heroes.
Pakistan Navy Maintains Strategic Vigilance
Vice Admiral Rab Nawaz confirmed that the Pakistan Navy remained on high alert in response to India’s false flag operation. He disclosed that the Navy closely monitored Indian naval activity, particularly involving the vessel Ratna Gri, which was near Pakistan’s maritime boundary on May 6 and 7. Though located 400 nautical miles away, the ship remained under constant observation.
The Navy’s readiness ensured the safety of commercial shipping lanes and deterred further escalation. Indian forces reportedly pulled back after civilian targets were struck, highlighting Pakistan Navy’s preparedness. Naval units also tracked Indian submarines and aircraft, while defensive measures were implemented to counter potential missile threats to Karachi.
PAF Achieves Air Superiority
Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb, representing the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), attributed its success to both divine support and sound strategic planning. He reported that PAF successfully downed multiple Indian aircraft and neutralized attempts at aerial aggression. The air defence network operated flawlessly, aided by radar systems and GPS jamming capabilities.
He credited Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar’s leadership for the air force’s operational success. According to Aurangzeb, the aerial combat results stood at a decisive 6-0 in Pakistan’s favor. PAF’s interception of Indian drones ensured civilian safety and reinforced Pakistan’s dominance in the skies.
