Three Asian nationals handed over to competent authorities after arrest with 377 kg of drugs
Abu Dhabi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st August, 2025) An attempt to smuggle drugs hidden in oil cans has been foiled in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. According to Gulf media, Abu Dhabi authorities have busted a gang of three people who were in possession of 377 kilograms of crystal meth. In this regard, police announced on Thursday, August 21 that the three Asians were arrested when authorities discovered a gang hiding drugs in oil cans intended for sewing machines.
It has been reported that this operation was a joint effort of Abu Dhabi Police and the National Drug Control Service. After arresting the suspects, they were handed over to the relevant authorities. The police have urged members of the community not to get involved in drugs and never fall into the misconception that drug use makes a person feel happy and comfortable, as the negative effects it has on human health and safety are devastating. The public is urged to report such cases to the security agency immediately.
On the other hand, Dubai Police successfully foiled an attempt to steal an extremely rare pink diamond worth $25 million (91.8 million dirhams and over 7 billion Pakistani rupees). The robbery attempt was carried out by a group of three people, all of whom were Asian nationals. Authorities acted quickly to arrest the suspects and arrested them within just eight hours of receiving the report of the crime.
The pink diamond, which was found to weigh 21 carats, is considered one of the rarest diamonds in the world. The gang allegedly planned to steal it after they discovered that the diamond had recently arrived in Dubai from a local businessman. Using fake identities, the suspects contacted the businessman and posed as intermediaries for a "wealthy buyer". To build credibility, they rented luxury cars and even brought a so-called "expert jeweler" with them.
The suspects' strategy convinced the businessman to remove the diamond from its safe location and bring it to a private villa to view it. It was in this villa that the gang took advantage of the opportunity to steal this rare diamond. However, Dubai Police, led by the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Criminology, quickly identified the suspects and raided their residences, recovering the stolen diamond, which was hidden inside a small refrigerator from where the gang planned to smuggle it to an unknown Asian country.
