Description
A plant tissue culture incubation center provides sterile labs, growth chambers, and expert support for propagating disease-free plants. It aids startups and researchers in developing protocols for medicinal, aromatic, and endangered species. These centers foster innovation in agriculture, conservation, and biotechnology through controlled environments and customized culture techniques. Plant tissue culture is a vital technique used to establish, maintain, and propagate various plant organs in vitro under sterile, nutrient-rich conditions. It involves culturing diverse explants using specialized methods for multiple applications. When scaled for mass propagation of vegetative tissues with plant regeneration, it is termed micropropagation. This approach is especially valuable for preserving clonal lines and superior genotypes, particularly when traditional propagation methods are ineffective or unfeasible. The controlled in vitro environment also facilitates efficient plantlet regeneration following organogenesis or genetic transformation.Significant milestones followed, including the discovery of the first plant hormone, indole acetic acid (IAA), by Went in 1926, and the identification of the cytokinin kinetin by Skoog and Miller in 1955. These breakthroughs enabled precise control over cell division and differentiation in culture. In recent years, whole-genome sequencing and molecular marker development have revolutionized the field, allowing for accurate assessment of genetic fidelity in tissue culture-derived plants. Together, these innovations have made plant tissue culture an indispensable tool in modern plant biotechnology and conservation.
