Paris Jackson Slams Critics Over Performance on Michael Jackson’s Death Anniversary: "Respectfully, F–k You"
Paris Jackson addresses criticism in a candid Instagram video, speaking out about her June 25 performance.

Paris Jackson has hit back at critics in her usual no-nonsense style after receiving backlash for booking a performance on a date that holds deep emotional significance for her family — the anniversary of her father Michael Jackson’s death.

The 26-year-old singer and model addressed the criticism through a series of videos shared to her Instagram Stories on Friday. In the clips, Paris spoke candidly about her upcoming performance with alternative rock bands Incubus and Manchester Orchestra, set for June 25 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

“So, people are mad again,” she began, clearly unimpressed by the online commentary. “One of the tour dates I’m doing with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to fall on June 25, which is a very difficult anniversary for me and my family.”

June 25 marks 16 years since the sudden death of her father, pop legend Michael Jackson, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 50 due to cardiac arrest caused by a drug overdose. For Paris, the date is understandably a somber reminder of the personal loss she experienced as a young child. But she emphasized that she has the right to continue her career and pursue her passion for music, even on days that are painful.

Despite the sensitive timing, some online users criticized her for not honoring the day with public mourning or for performing on what they consider a “sacred” date. Paris didn’t hold back in her response to those questioning her decisions. Using pointed sarcasm, she ended her message with a bold and unapologetic “f–k you,” making it clear that she would not be shamed for how she chooses to navigate her grief or live her life.

Known for her independent spirit and strong voice on social issues, Paris Jackson has often spoken about the complexities of growing up in the public eye and managing personal trauma under constant scrutiny. Her response to this latest wave of criticism reinforces her message: grief is personal, and no one else gets to dictate how she copes with it — not even on the internet.
