India neutralizes Pakistani drone and missile strikes, focusing on air defense systems.

Following the execution of Operation Sindoor by India, which targeted and destroyed nine terror sites deep with drones within Pakistan, Pakistan initiated a series of retaliatory strikes on May 7, targeting multiple military installations.

These operational strikes involved the use of drones and missiles against various targets across Northern and Western India, including locations such as Awantipora, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj. However, these attacks were successfully intercepted by India’s Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems, which have begun recovering debris from several sites, confirming the nature of the Pakistani assault.

In response, India’s Air Force deployed S-400 Sudarshan Chakra air defence missiles to neutralize incoming threats. Sources with expertise in the field confirmed the success of this operation, though official government verification is still awaited.

This morning, the Indian Armed Forces conducted strikes on various air defence radars and systems located in Pakistan. India’s counterattacks matched the scale and intensity of Pakistan’s actions. Reliable reports indicate that an air defence system located in Lahore was successfully disabled.

Further reports suggest that over 100 militants were eliminated in a series of precise strikes carried out in the early hours of Wednesday. The operation, which is a direct response to the Pahalgam terror attack, is ongoing, making it difficult to provide an accurate count of the casualties at this point.

The strikes primarily targeted nine significant terrorist camps linked to groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen. Four of these camps were situated inside Pakistan, while the remaining five were located in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Among the key locations attacked were Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya in Pakistan, and Markaz Ahle Hadith Barnala, Markaz Abbas, Maskar Raheel Shahid in Kotli, Shawai Nallah Camp, and Markaz Syedna Bilal in Muzaffarabad in PoJK.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has escalated its unprovoked artillery and mortar fire across the Line of Control (LoC) in regions such as Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. This cross-border firing has tragically claimed the lives of sixteen civilians, including three women and five children. In response, India has been forced to act in order to halt the mortar and artillery fire from Pakistan. The Indian Armed Forces have reiterated their commitment to avoiding further escalation, as long as Pakistani forces respect the terms of non-escalation.
