And the late Jane Birkin, Charlotte Gainsbourg has shared her life with actor Yvan Attal for many years. The actress and filmmaker have started a family by giving birth to several children. Among them, we can notably mention Ben Attal, who followed in his parents’ footsteps by launching an acting career. At the same time, he also recently took over management of the Gainsbarre.
This establishment is located in the legendary home of Serge Gainsbourg. Unfortunately for Charlotte Gainsbourg’s son, the neighbors of the Gainsbarre have complained about the numerous incidents that have occurred since Ben Attal took over its operation. “It’s only getting worse. It’s a disaster,” a resident of Rue de Verneuil told Le Figaro.

Even though the establishment is supposed to close at 2 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday, this same resident claims that the festivities can sometimes last until dawn on weekends. “It’s actually a nightclub! I can hear the music from my living room. We report it to 911 every time,” said another neighbor of the establishment managed by Charlotte Gainsbourg’s son.
“The situation will be resolved. Our priority is the peace and quiet and quality of life of the residents. We are monitoring this matter very closely,” assured a law firm in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. “Some good habits have been lost” since Charlotte Gainsbourg’s son took over the establishment. “If Le Gainsbarre does not comply with its obligations, it will be sanctioned, and we will ensure that this is done. The mayor has contacted the police chief,”
Ben Attal: “We had a misunderstanding with the neighbors, we have no desire to open a nightclub!”
When questioned by Le Figaro on this subject, Ben Attal acknowledged his wrongdoing. “I completely understand the residents. We were two chefs [his partner and he, editor’s note] when we launched this first business, Le Gainsbarre. We learned on the job. We’re young, we thought we could control things. But that wasn’t the case,” emphasized Charlotte Gainsbourg’s son.
“We had a misunderstanding with the neighbors; we have no desire to open a nightclub at all! We really want to integrate into this street, and in a very caring way,” Ben Attal added. During a recent mediation meeting with the neighbors of Le Gainsbarre, Charlotte Gainsbourg’s son reportedly committed to no longer organizing private parties with a DJ and to using the establishment solely as a “piano bar.”
