SM Entertainment Issues Legal Update on Malicious Content Targeting Girls’ Generation’s YoonA
SM Entertainment has released an official update regarding its legal actions to combat the ongoing spread of malicious content and defamation targeting Girls’ Generation member YoonA. The agency confirmed on June 10 that it has filed multiple criminal complaints against individuals responsible for spreading false rumors, defamatory statements, and slanderous content about the artist.
In its statement, SM Entertainment emphasized its zero-tolerance policy when it comes to protecting the rights and reputation of its artists. The agency made it clear that it will take strong legal action without leniency or the possibility of settlements.
The legal action follows the collection of evidence from continuous internal monitoring as well as fan-submitted reports through SM’s official reporting channel, KWANGYA 119. The agency stated that a large number of online posts have been identified, which spread malicious and baseless claims aimed at damaging YoonA’s public image.
